This month we are going to work on Luminous pieces.  We were inspired by this article in Polymer Arts Magazine and Ginger Davis Allman of www.bluebottletree.com.

I tried a couple, did the first on with clay than promptly burnt it to a crisp. so tried it again using alcohol inks and liked it a lot more.  Here are a couple shots.

It was pretty simple.....but I like the effect...although I will do things differntly next time.
You will need to bring:  Pasta machine, translucent clay and black clay.  You will need some chalk or alcohol inks and stamps can be fun too. as you can see.  You might consider some paper, pencil and scissors to work you design out.  I did this one on a small frame.  I used the glass for measurement, but you won't necessarily need the glass when you are done, up to you.  you could also do it on a votive, or or anything that would be transparent.  I think you could make suncatchers of just clay probably, may try that before the meeting.
As always feel free to bring anything you are working on if you are not interested in this project.

We will hold a business meeting at 10AM  Saturday July 19, 2014 and hold elections promptly at 10:30 Am and follow with a short demo and  as usual you will all come up with much better ideas than I have.

See you then,
Just me,
Carolann Blanco
