Demo - faux jade, lapis lazuli, and wood/bone
Picture
Dawn is going to show us some Faux techniques.   basically you will need a pasta machine, a tile to bake on, a surface to work on and clay.

Clays (I used Premo! for all these):

Jade:  translucent, green, and Spanish olive, or a light-ish brown like raw sienna. I experimented with a lot of inclusions for this and found that black pepper worked best; I'll bring a little bag of it (you don't need much).

Lapis: trans, pearl, white, black and 2 or 3 different blues (e.g. cobalt, ultramarine, navy, etc.) and metal foil in gold.

Wood and Bone: trans, pearl, ecru and gold. This makes a light wood (and bone, only a slight difference in technique for wood and bone).  For a darker wood grain, instead of gold we can use a darker mica clay like copper or bronze, etc.

Hope to see you all there.

Remember every day is better with polymer clay.
