Websites with Free and/or Inexpensive Tutorials

Some offer paid and free tutorials…so you might have to hunt for the free ones.

http://www.polymerclaycentral.com/masterindex.html#beginners – a huge list of links to tutorials and reviews of tutorials.  And some information specifically for beginners.   Lots of cane, but lots of other stuff for those who are not into canes.

http://www.polymerclaycentral.com/autumn_leaf.html -  Simple fun fall leaf cane

http://www.claylessons.com/ - Tutorial site, Some free tutorial, others are between $5-12.  I have bought a couple and they were worth the price.  The ones I did were done with a slide show and written instructions…easy to print off and keep close while working.  Some good free articles as well

http://www.desiredcreations.com/howTo_Desk.htm -  Fun artist with a lot of courage to try anything.  The gallery is full of inspiration and the how to’s are great for beginners as well as advanced.  Instructions are fairly good, some could use a lot more pictures…but the Braided Rainbow Cane should not be missed.

http://www.sculpey.com/ -  their projects area has lots of ideas.  Some are pretty kitchy…lots of stuff kids would like…but there are some great techniques taught and ideas that can be altered to be more sophisticated

http://polymerclaybeads.blogspot.com/ - a tutorial on a rosebud  bead…but she also shows an alternative to the normal Skinner blend that is quicker and has good control…but the blend is not as gradual..but good for some projects.

http://www.skygrazer.com/polymerclay/resources/lessonlinks.htm#HOWTO_MULT – another list of links to tutorials …a few of the same sites as the one above but a lot of new ones too.

http://www.polymerclaycentral.com/mokume1.html - a very clear tutorial on mokume gane

http://www.jewelry-and-polymerclay-tutorial-heaven.com/tutorials.html#axzz1jdXKKzcg  - good tutorials on beads, the make some very complicated ideas seem simple…..very good place to start if you are interested in beads.  You can always find more involved tutorials on a technique once you know what you want.
